Product Information:
- Inspired by Mt 18: 12-13, the Pectoral Cross has been designed and crafted by the Genose sculptor Antonio Vedele (May 13, 1930-Oct 4, 1997). The cross represents 'The Good Shepherd' who guides His flock to the fold and carries the lost sheep on His shoulders. The pope renounced the gold cross customarily used by pontiffs but retained His 'poor' cross that He first used as bishop and later as cardinal.
- The cross's simple, linear style is also intended as a symbol of a new ecclesiastical era, a 'poor Church among the poor', as Pope Francis has indicated.
